Violin parts at a glance!

Now I must admit I sometimes talk about my "thingy" or my "what do call 'em?".

But I put that down to being past my teenage years.

The picture below gives an easy guide to violin parts.Handy to know.

If you feel yourself glazing over about such technicalities - think of it like eating your greens. It is good for you!

If you are looking for parts you can buy them as sets which include Violin Pegs, Tailpiece, End button, and a Chinrest or you can buy them separatey.

There are also some important parts you can't see which are inside the violin. The base bar runs inside the front on the left hand side of the F holes (as you look at the violin)

The sound post is also very important and sits close to the F holes. Its position can affect the sound of the violin. If your violin is unbalanced, it may be worth having the sound post adjusted by a professional.

We have also shown the main violin bow parts too. Bows can be as important to the sound as the violin itself.

Now that was easy wasn't it?
