Our Hardanger violins have arrived!

We are interested in all things about violins - particularly folk music. For some time, we have been playing Scandinavian music and we came across the hardanger violin. They are Norwegian violins, and have the normal top four strings of a violin, as well as four of five understrings. These strings ring as the violin is played and gives it s fantastic sound. A few people play them outside of Norway. But they are VERY difficult to find. We also hand make violins and teach violin making. We have been developing a design for a hardanger violin. We have had our first three made. They are beautiful oil varnished instruments. Contact us if you are interested.
